Our Mission & Vision

The Catskill tree Council is an all volunteer organization, sponsored by community members who share a vision of a healthier, more beautiful Catskill. The Catskill tree Council will do its utmost to protect, preserve, maintain and care for all of the village public trees, for the benefit of everyone who lives, works, or visits the village of Catskill. Efforts by the Catskill Tree Council for the common good will include planting and maintaining public trees, establishing and maintaining an inventory of Public trees, creating a Village tree Management plan, and providing programs and written material for public education.

About Us

The village of Catskill, located within the broader Catskill region in New York State, is home to a diverse range of native trees, reflective of the Northeastern hardwood forest ecosystem. This area, part of the larger Appalachian forest, showcases a variety of deciduous and coniferous trees that have adapted to the local climate and soil conditions over millennia.
